Paris was the center of world football on September 22, as Ousmane Dembélé claimed the Ballon d’Or for the 2024/25 season. The Paris Saint-Germain forward enjoyed a spectacular year, lifting trophies with PSG and now adding the sport’s most prestigious individual prize.
Spain’s Aitana Bonmatí continued her dominance in women’s football, securing her third consecutive Ballon d’Or Féminin after another outstanding campaign with Barcelona.

The goalkeeper awards went to Gianluigi Donnarumma (now at Manchester City, but a Champions League winner with PSG) and Chelsea’s Hannah Hampton. Meanwhile, Viktor Gyökeres (Arsenal & Sweden) was crowned Best Striker, with Barcelona’s Polish forward Ewa Pajor receiving the women’s equivalent, the Gerd Müller Trophy.
